Local watercolor artist Dr. Marc Bard will continue his ‘Paintings for a Purpose’ Art Show with an August display at the MVSB Wolfeboro Office at 66 North Main St. The show will begin with an opening reception at the Bank from 4-7 pm Thursday, Aug. 1 and artwork will be showcased at the office throughout the month.
The ‘Paintings for a Purpose’ Art Show, currently on display at the Bank’s Main Office in Meredith, features Dr. Bard’s watercolor paintings of beautiful local sights and scenes as well as wildlife photography by his colleague Dr. John Ingard. This is Bard’s fifth year hosting the fundraiser and first year expanding the show to Wolfeboro.
All funds raised during the August show will be donated to End 68 Hours of Hunger – Wolfeboro Area and Kingswood Youth Center. The organizations were selected from a pool of interested nonprofits by Dr. Bard and a committee of community members.
“The Meredith opening reception and art display has been a great success so far and we are excited to see the art show expand to the Wolfeboro community this year,” said Marcus Weeks, MVSB President. “The organizations selected tackle some of the most pressing needs in our communities and the contributions will surely be put to good use helping local people. We hope everyone will stop by during our opening reception to view and purchase some beautiful works of art.”
In addition to the sale of original artwork and high-quality prints, community members can also purchase note cards, request commissioned art, and special-order prints of any original piece in the size of their preference show thanks to the support of Meredith Frame Shop. Artwork can be previewed online on the organization’s website, paintingsforapurpose.org, which has been designed and maintained by Bard’s grandson, Benjy Levine.
